Well tonight I was having a family home evening with a few sisters, we have made it a regular weekly event. We were in the process of watching a movie about a Missionary who had served in Tonga, when one of the sisters had an emotional out burst because of a really big challenge in her life. She was going to leave, and so we turned off the movie, and got her to stay, talk about what was going on, and we gave her lots of love. Then we said she should get a blessing. So I called the Missionaries at their home, who were probably just about ready to go to bed and told them we had a bit of an emergency situation and asked if they could come over immediately and give her a blessing. They did not question, or hestitate, they said they would be right over. So they drove all across town, and in a short while they were at the door ready to serve. They came in and gave her a great blessing.
What I realized later was, here we were watching a movie about a Missionary and all his experiences on his Mission, and then we got to first hand experience the love, Spirit and service of Missionaries. It took our family home evening to a deeper and richer spiritual place. It made me so appreciate the Church, and how much we are loved, blessed, and how our Church is truly the church of Jesus Christ. This experience really testified the Truth our church, and how the Lord works when we least expect it.
I now breathe in the Light of Christ, filling my whole being with the glorious light of Heaven.
